Han Chiang Centennial Photography Competition

Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUC) is organising a photography competition in conjunction with Han Chiang Centennial Celebration 2019.

At a media conference, project coordinator Mr Chiang Chee Kiat, who is a lecturer of HCUC, said the competition is aimed at encouraging participants to capture moments which address the themes of “Han Chiang Centennial Celebration, “People of Han Chiang” or “The Beauty of Han Chiang’’.

He said submissions of entries which are free of charge are open from now to September 1, 2019. 

“The main purpose of the contest is to commemorate Han Chiang’s Centennial Celebration through the use of pictures provided in the contest,” he said.

HCUC Vice Chancellor Dr Beh Kok Hooi said the competition is open free of charge for the public and students of Han Chiang schools.

He explained that the competition is separated into two categories, one for the public and one for Han Chiang students.

The categories of the competition are listed as below:

Category A

  1. Open Category – open to Malaysians and non-Malaysians
  2. Student Category – open to all secondary school students in Malaysia

Category B

Open to students from HCUC, Han Chiang High School and Han Chiang Primary School.

 

“Fifteen participants will be shortlisted from each category and their works will be exhibited from October 10 to October 12 at HCUC campus. Results of the competition will be announced on October 12,” Chiang said.

“Participants are allowed to submit up to ten individual entries, each submission must be at least of 3 Megapixels (MP) in JPEG version. Entries can be submitted via email hanchiang100th@hju.edu.my or walk-in to HCUC,” he added.

 

Winners from each category will receive prizes as below:

Category A (Open Category)

Champion  – Prizes worth RM1,500 and certificate

1st Runner up – Prizes worth RM1,000 and certificate

2nd Runner up – Prizes worth RM750 and certificate

Consolation (5 pax) – Prizes worth RM300 and certificate

 

Category A (Student Category)

Champion   – Prizes worth RM1,000 and certificate

1st Runner up – Prizes worth RM750 and certificate

2nd Runner up – Prizes worth RM500 and certificate

Consolation (5 pax) – Prizes worth RM200 and certificate

 

Category B

Champion  – Prizes worth RM1,000 and certificate

1st Runner up  – Prizes worth RM750 and certificate

2nd Runner up – Prizes worth RM500 and certificate

Consolation (5 pax) – Prizes worth RM200 and certificate
