GEORGE TOWN: MM2 Entertainment in collaboration with Han Chiang University College of Communication (HCUC) conducted an interactive sharing session about the former’s upcoming movie, Craze Below The Wind. The session had the film’s producer Jimz Lee and the leading actor, Gadrick Chin as the primary discussants.

Producer Jimz Lee sharing his views about the current and future of Malaysian film industry at HCUC, in a sharing session held in collaboration with MM2 Entertainment on 14 March 2020.

Comprising native talents, this Sabah’s debut film features international recording artiste Gary Chaw, radio announcer Yu Tian Long, Ola Bola fame Daphne Low and various locals who will be starring in what is known to be an adventure comedy film. The crew believes this endeavour will put them in the international rankings.

Jimz discussed the current scenario of the local entertainment industry such as the challenges faced by local films and the intricacies of designing movie posters.

Five major challenges faced by local films, according to Jimz, are insufficient government attention to local films, disunity among filmmakers, low audience literacy, limited market, and free sharing or pirating.

Actor Gadrick Chin shared his Craze Below the Wind filming experience at HCUC, during a sharing session held in collaboration with MM2 Entertainment on 14 March 2020.

Meanwhile, Gadrick talked about his experience via the new media platform, Tiktok. He shared several tips on how to operate both the traditional and new media as a celebrity. He also advised the students to be confident and explore a style that suits them. Citing himself as an example, he humorously said that being famous does not necessarily have to come with “good looks”.

The sharing session was held on 14 March 2020 at HCUC’s Auditorium where MMC cinema food vouchers were given out as door gifts. Admission was free for all visitors at the sharing session.

Due to the current Covid-19 pandemic, the release date of this movie is still unknown. For further information about the film, stay tuned on MM2 Malaysia’s Facebook page at    https://www.facebook.com/mm2malaysia.
